ABOUT US

This course has been a labor of love and community for PG pilot Josh Norris MA, WEMT-A.  Josh is a certified Geo Medic, and after working as an alpine and rock guide since 1994, he began teaching wild med in 2004. He started teaching PG specific WFAs in 2015. In addition to working with and training SAR and Mountain Rescue teams, he has worked in international clinics throughout South and Central America.

When you sign up for the course you get access to an online portal that includes loads of videos and readings to supplement the course.  You'll get more out of the instruction if you review the material ahead of class.

Always game for an adventure, Kyle Snider started helping to teach PG WFAs many years ago. Kyle has worked in the backcountry as a climbing and whitewater guide, a ski patroller, and is now an Apprentice Alpine Guide through the AMGA.

Professionally, Kyle has worked in the PNW and the Rockies for various fire departments and EMS agencies. Notably, Kyle worked on an elite technical rescue/backcountry medical team extracting injured persons from remote and difficult to reach locations.

Currently, Kyle works full time as a paramedic for Harney District Hospital. When not on shift, Kyle teaches wilderness medicine or is out adventuring.

TESTIMONIAL

The knowledge and skills that you gain, could make the difference between life and death, or at least quality of life and minimizing complications following an accident, for a fellow pilot. Even for an experienced medical professional, like myself, I recommend this course. Josh will impart the latest spine immobilization recommendations and techniques for wilderness extrication and rescue, along with a plethora of other valuable education.  -- Kate
